Recordatorio: Cada primer jueves del mes, el equipo de Apoyo Comunitario Bilingüe de LCPS se asocia con el banco de alimentos Roadrunner Food Bank para distribuir comidas a las familias de LCPS frente al Centro de Apoyo Familiar de LCPS, ubicado en 505 S. Main St., Suite 249, Las Cruces, NM 88001.

La próxima distribución de alimentos se llevará a cabo el jueves 6 de noviembre a las 9:00 a.m. en el Centro de Apoyo Familiar de LCPS. La colecta de alimentos apoya hasta a 75 familias. Llegue temprano, ya que la distribución se realizará por orden de llegada.

Reminder: Every first Thursday of the month, the LCPS Bilingual Community Outreach team partners with Roadrunner Food Bank to distribute meals to LCPS families in front of the LCPS Family Support Center, located at 505 S. Main St., Suite 249, Las Cruces, NM 88001.

The next food drive will take place on Thursday, November 6, at 9:00 a.m. at the LCPS Family Support Center. The food drive supports up to 75 families. Please arrive early, as distribution will operate on a first-come, first-served basis.

Parent & Swimmer Meeting Reminder for Swim Team

This is a reminder that we will have a Parent and Swimmer Meeting on Thursday, October 30th at 5:00 PM in the Las Cruces High School Library. This meeting is mandatory for all 8th graders and high school swimmers who are interested in joining the team and did not attend the Zoom meeting last week.

The swim season officially begins on November 3rd, with tryouts scheduled for November 3rd and 4th at the Las Cruces Natatorium from 6:00–7:30 AM.

During the meeting, coaches will review meet dates, practice expectations, and discuss future developments in the swim program. This meeting will ensure swimmers and families have all the necessary information before the season begins. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

Safety Update: Precautionary Shelter-in-Place at Mesa Middle School, Sunrise Elementary, and Cesar Chavez

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The Las Cruces Police Department is currently monitoring a situation in the East Mesa area near Mesa Middle School, Sunrise Elementary, and Cesar Chavez Elementary.

As a safety precaution, these schools have been placed on a shelter-in-place. Please know that all students and staff are safe, and instruction is continuing inside the buildings as normal.

We are working closely with the Las Cruces Police Department, who are on scene and actively monitoring the area. We will continue to share updates as information becomes available. For the latest information, please visit your school’s webpage.

Designed to introduce young people to high-demand careers in construction and skilled trades, the event offered interactive exhibits, demonstrations and real-world experiences.

Through this engaging partnership, students explored career pathways, connected with industry professionals, and gained valuable insight into the future of the construction workforce in New Mexico.
